“Unofficial” Athletic Brewing Application

“Fit for All Times” isn’t just about beer. It’s about life. And this is where I want mine to go next.

I’ve spent decades helping brands grow — now I want to help one that’s helped me grow. This is an unsolicited application to join Athletic Brewing in any capacity where I can contribute meaningfully — through marketing, community building, storytelling, or boots-on-the-ground expansion. Here's why I believe I'm a fit.

When you’re ready, let’s talk. Shoot me a note HERE.

  • Because I’ve never felt more aligned with a brand — and there wasn’t a job posting that captured what I want to do. I figured I’d show up anyway.

Unofficially, I’ve been part of the Athletic movement since January. Officially, I’d love to join the team that made it happen.

  • Marketing trailblazer, community builder, brand storyteller.
I’ve spent my career helping brands find their voice, build real audiences, and create moments that turn customers into loyal fans. At Athletic, I’d bring that same mindset — with an emphasis on lifestyle storytelling, cultural partnerships, experiential events, and mindful market expansion. I believe there’s room to deepen the brand’s footprint not just through content, but through community.

And yes, I’d love to be in San Diego. That’s always been my “someday” city — and it feels like someday just became now.

  • By treating the brand like a lifestyle, not a product line.

That means partnerships with wellness leaders. Pop-ups at trailheads and climbing gyms. Community runs ending in Free Wave toasts. Limited drops tied to seasonal adventures. I've spent years building programs like these — and I'd love to create campaigns that make Athletic not just something people drink, but something they join.

  • Not yet — but I’ve been orbiting it for years.

I’ve spent my career in marketing, media, and brand strategy — leading campaigns, building audiences, and producing events for companies big and small. But for the past few years, I’ve been inching closer to the craft brewing world: visiting breweries, exploring investment opportunities, and envisioning ways to bring great beer (and now, great NA beer) to opportunity markets like Phoenix.

So while I’m not technically “in” the beverage industry — I’ve got one foot in the taproom already.

  • Because I bring a fresh perspective, proven brand-building chops, and a real connection to your mission.

I've spent decades translating complex products into simple, magnetic stories — and doing it authentically. From adtech to award shows, I’ve helped brands stand out by tapping into culture, not just category. Athletic Brewing isn’t just selling beer — you’re building a movement. That’s something I know how to grow.

  • More than you might expect.

I am your customer: health-conscious, active, mindful, and still wanting that end-of-day ritual that says “you earned this.” I’ve tried everything in the NA space — from crafty newcomers to well-meaning near-misses. Athletic’s beers are the only ones that deliver on taste and identity. Your customers aren’t just buying flavor; they’re buying freedom — from alcohol, yes, but also from compromise.

  • You get someone with the mindset of a founder and the curiosity of a newcomer — minus the ego.

I’ll bring everything I’ve got from the marketing world, but leave room to learn the nuances of your industry. You get a strategic thinker who knows when to lead and when to listen. Someone who can connect dots others might miss — because I haven’t been trained to see things one way.

  • I can help shape a launch, plan a campaign, polish a pitch deck, write copy that converts, or rally a crowd. If your team needs an experienced marketing generalist who can jump in and move fast — I’m ready.

  • To help Athletic Brewing reach more people who don’t know how much better they’d feel — until they try.

San Diego is the dream base. Marketing is my entry point. But long-term? I’d love to grow with the brand. Help open new markets. Host community events. Maybe one day even help shape product storytelling and innovation. I’m not just applying for a job. I’m applying for a chapter.

  • Immediately.
My laptop’s charged. My bike is tuned. My heart’s in this.

    • Run Wild — a go-to after a long ride through Forest Park in Portland.

    • Upside Dawn — perfect with a veggie breakfast burrito in the Sonoran desert.

    • Free Wave — my reward after climbing a hill that didn’t look that big when I started.

These aren’t just beers. They’re part of how I celebrate movement, connection, and balance.

  • I hit pause on drinking 115 days ago — not because of any dramatic turning point, but out of a desire to feel better, move more, sleep deeper, and think clearer. I still love the ritual of beer: the social energy, the way it pairs with a grilled burger or a night around the fire. I just wanted all that without the slowdown.

That’s when I found Athletic — and realized I didn’t have to give anything up to get everything I wanted.

  • Active. Curious. Intentional.

I split my time between Portland and Phoenix. I ride 10–20 miles a day. I’m deeply into health, wellness, and clean eating. I meditate, cook at home, and prioritize sleep. I’ve traded “more” for “better.” And I’ve never felt more present in my own body or future.

Athletic Brewing has become a consistent part of that rhythm. And now I’d love to make it part of my work too.

Cheers! ¡Salud! Santé! Prost!
