“Unofficial” Portland State Application

Teaching the next generation to bring brands to life.

I’ve spent my career creating brand experiences that connect with people — not just as consumers, but as humans. From Cannes to Clio to large-scale brand activations, I’ve helped companies turn strategy into story, and marketing into moments.

Now, I’d love to bring that experience to Portland State.

This is an unsolicited application to join your faculty in any capacity where I can contribute meaningfully — as a guest lecturer, adjunct instructor, capstone mentor, or creative collaborator. My focus is experiential marketing — the kind that blends business thinking with bold ideas, and turns campaigns into cultural memory.

When you’re ready to talk, just shoot me a note HERE.

  • I’d love to contribute wherever experiential marketing, brand storytelling, or event strategy intersect with PSU’s curriculum — whether that’s in the School of Business, the Retail Leadership Center, or as part of a capstone or creative elective.
This could take the shape of a guest lecture, an adjunct role, or co-creating an applied course that gives students hands-on experience with campaign and event design. I’m open to whatever format best supports your program and your students.

  • It’s where marketing stops talking at people and starts creating something for them.
Experiential marketing is about designing real-world, emotionally resonant brand experiences — from pop-ups and product launches to immersive events and cultural activations. It turns strategy into story and campaigns into memories.
Done well, it doesn’t just capture attention — it earns it.

  • Here are a few I’d love to teach, co-create, or guest in:

    • Experience Is the Brand
A look at the strategy, psychology, and execution behind today’s most successful brand activations.

    • Live Strategy Lab
A hands-on course where students concept, pitch, and prototype a campaign from scratch.

    • Event Marketing for Modern Brands
What it really takes to launch a product, build buzz, and create community through live engagement.

    • Storytelling for Brand Builders
Crafting narrative-driven events and activations that connect with audiences and drive cultural impact.

  • I’ve spent the last two decades creating it.
I’ve served as a CMO and marketing lead in the adtech and media industries. I’ve produced global experiences like the Clio Awards and Cannes Lions activations, and I’ve also worked inside iconic media brands like Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter, where I led live event strategy in the music and entertainment space.
I’ve worked with hundreds of A-list artists and talent teams, built experiential campaigns from the ground up, and partnered with some of the most recognizable names in the world.
What I bring is first-hand, hard-earned, behind-the-scenes experience — from concept to curtain call.

  • Yes — just not in the traditional tenure-track sense.
I’ve spoken at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, taught workshops for agency creatives on how to create award-winning campaign entries, and led internal training sessions on experiential strategy, team building, and creative marketing execution.
My teaching style is conversational, practical, and rooted in the real world. Less theory, more application. Less lecture, more doing.

  • Students studying marketing, branding, communications, entrepreneurship, retail leadership, hospitality, or design — anyone looking to work at the intersection of creativity and commerce.
This isn’t just for future CMOs. It’s for future producers, storytellers, strategists, social media leads, and anyone who wants to bring a brand to life in the real world.

  • Part-time, yes. I split my year between Portland and Phoenix, and spend extended time in the Pacific Northwest throughout the year.
I’m available for in-person teaching, guest lectures, hybrid courses, or capstone mentorship — and happy to coordinate around the academic calendar.

  • I’m open to either.
If there’s room for a single guest lecture or workshop, I’m happy to bring something high-impact. If there’s interest in building out a recurring elective or co-teaching a series, I’m all in.
The format isn’t as important to me as the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the program and its students.

  • Absolutely.
I’ve taught professionals and early-career creatives through internal workshops, industry seminars, and award show trainings. If there’s a fit within continuing education, certificate programs, or executive learning, I’d be glad to explore it.

  • It is.
While I’ve spent most of my career in the private sector, I’ve always found the most fulfillment in mentoring, teaching, and helping others find their voice. I’d love to grow into a larger teaching role over time — ideally as a professor, advisor, or program collaborator.
This isn’t a one-off idea. It’s the beginning of a shift toward giving back and helping shape the next generation of creative marketers and brand leaders.

Final Word

Great marketing doesn’t just sell — it connects. It creates meaning. It makes you feel something. That’s what I’ve spent my career doing, and it’s what I’d love to help Portland State students learn to do for themselves.

If there’s a place for someone like me — a builder, a storyteller, a doer — I’m all ears.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Let’s create something memorable — together.
